Happy Friday everyone! Friday Favorites is here and I have so many great links for the week!
favorite thrift finds
One of my first thrift finds after we got to US over three years ago was this cane back chair. We were still living with our uncle and aunt. We went to an estate sale and I wanted so much to buy a furniture piece that was ours. That could help me envision a future place of our own. This $15 chair was all I could afford to buy, but gave me hope.
I did not have a style in mind yet or a plan for a design. But I wanted to start with something I liked and a chair seemed easy enough to take to any future home.
Besides, I wasn’t too worried about being “right”. Because one of the ways I think a home can reflect the personality of the ones living there in a unique way is to bring in objects that represent them 100%, regardless of the style. I suppose I’m leaning eclectic, ha!
It’s such a blessing to have a place to call home now! And also see all the thrifted items find their place in our house.
This chair needs some love. I envision new upholstery and maybe refinish the wood. Although I like the medium tone wood colors lately and I might keep the wood as it is and refresh the upholstery only.
